Overview

Rebuild the ridge. Close it without tension.

Days 1 and 2 pair lectures with porcine-model sessions and suturing workshops in Boston. Day 3 moves to Boston Bioskills Lab in Lexington for hands-on work on cadaveric specimens: extraction, socket preservation, GBR and soft tissue closure.

Who should attend

  • Dentists placing implants who want to manage deficient ridges themselves
  • Clinicians adding ridge preservation and GBR to their practice
  • Dentists who want predictable soft tissue around implants, including in the esthetic zone
  • Anyone whose grafts fail at closure through membrane exposure, dehiscence or tension

You'll leave able to

  1. Extract atraumatically and preserve the alveolar ridge for future implant placement.
  2. Classify a bony defect and choose the barrier membrane and graft material for it.
  3. Perform guided bone regeneration and fix the membrane so the graft stays put.
  4. Assess soft tissue phenotype and choose when and how to augment around implants.
  5. Advance a flap for tension-free primary closure over a graft.
  6. Select sutures and needles, and stabilize soft tissue grafts with advanced suturing.
