Think Dental Institute is a Boston continuing education institute for dentists who want to plan, place and restore implants. Our courses pair lectures with hands-on work on real patients, taught by board-certified faculty who are still in clinical practice.

The place dentists across the Northeast come to learn implants.
We picture a dental community where every clinician, from dentists to hygienists and assistants, can get high-standard training without leaving the region, whether they practice in New England, New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
Our goal is to develop clinicians who adopt new techniques carefully, practice ethically and earn their patients' confidence, and to keep raising the bar for how clinical training is taught.

Dr. David Chong directs the institute and leads the clinical curriculum. Every member of our lecturing faculty is a Fellow or Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and all four still treat patients.

He teaches at NYU College of Dentistry and the University of Maryland, and he leads Think Dental Institute's clinical curriculum from CBCT planning through live patient surgery.

Where is Think Dental Institute located?
Our main campus is at 10 Post Office Square in Boston's Financial District, about a 10-minute walk from South Station. Clinical training takes place at six affiliate practices: Ellui Dental and Acro Dental in downtown Boston, Nine One Dental in West Roxbury, Foreon Dental & Implant Studio in Danvers, Ipswich Bay Dental in Ipswich and SPG Dental in Spencer.
Are your courses approved for continuing education credit?
Yes. Think Dental Institute is a Nationally Approved PACE Program Provider for FAGD/MAGD credit, AGD Provider #399519, with approval running from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2028. Approval does not imply acceptance by any regulatory authority or AGD endorsement.
Do I need implant experience to take a course?
No. The Master Course in Dental Implantology starts with diagnosis and CBCT planning and is built for dentists who haven't placed an implant yet. Our Level 2 courses are for dentists who already place routine cases.
Will I place implants on real patients?
Yes. In the Master Course you place 20 implants on patients, 1:1 with faculty, inside our working affiliate practices in Massachusetts.
Who teaches the courses?
Courses are led by Dr. David Chong, DDS, our Director and Co-Founder, a Diplomate of the ABOI/ID and ICOI who teaches at NYU College of Dentistry and the University of Maryland. He lectures with Dr. Marco Tallarico of the University of Sassari in Italy, Dr. H. Richard Yoo of NYU College of Dentistry and Dr. Brandon Kang, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon on the Stanford faculty.
Can you train my whole team?
Yes. We offer team training and mentorship for practice owners, and an on-site program that takes dental assistants from beginner to certified.
Can I attend if I practice outside Massachusetts?
Yes. Our courses are open to dentists from across New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The campus is a short walk from South Station, which Amtrak serves from New York and points south. If your course includes patient care, ask us about licensing requirements before you register.
